WHO WE ARE
Day services with a difference
We support older people in the Wester Hailes and surrounding areas to remain as independent as they can be. We provide a varied weekly programme of activities, fully accessible transport and healthy, delicious lunches made fresh on the premises every day.
OUR STORY
Founded in 1991, the Dove Centre is the only dedicated centre for the over 50s in the Wester Hailes and surrounding area. Our focus is to enhance the lives of our service users and make sure they feel empowered by creating opportunities for them as individuals and in the community.
Dove Transport was founded in 2003 and its goal is to provide affordable accessible transport to local not-for-profit community organisations in the west of Edinburgh.
A PLACE AT THE DOVE
A place at the Dove Centre includes an activity, a freshly prepared three course lunch and fully accessible door-to-door transport (within our catchment area) every week - we do not operate a drop-in service as we believe routine is key to supporting people to thrive. We work on a referral system for places so if you or your loved one is interested in attending the Dove Centre, please get in touch to request a referral form or to ask any questions you might have!

A preventative approach
GENTLE EXERCISE
Promoting physical activity through gentle exercises, chair-based, or on your feet if you’d prefer. Go at your own pace along to music, led by our specially trained tutor. Suitable for all.
DOMINOES
Fun, socialising, mental stimulation and some very friendly competition all rolled into one!
ARTS & CRAFTS
Promoting creativity and manual dexterity through various mediums from therapeutic colouring, to glass painting, clay work and more!
BINGO
Fun, socialising and mental stimulation. A Dove classic and a firm favourite with our service users. Eyes down for a full house!
SUMMER BUS TRIPS
Day trips over the summer months.
